About us

Babbie Adams

As a member of the Holderness community since 2007, I have enjoyed all that our beautiful town and surroundings have to offer. I look forward to the opportunity to give back to our community, as have others before me. With the belief that "all politics is local, "I am committed to effective civic stewardship: promoting our pristine environment and the welfare of all who call Holderness home.

As a physician, delivering the best medical care possible requires being informed and prepared, receptive and responsive, and focused yet flexible while adhering to laws and standards, both natural and legislated. Serving on the Select Board requires adherence to those principles to promote our community's safety, health, and well-being with the best evidence-based practices. I, along with my accomplished and civic-minded friend, John Barry, hope to apply the same vision and principles as members of your Select Board, striving to foster integrative problem-solving approaches and optimizing best practices in the service of our community.

Since living in Holderness, I have served as a Community Emergency Response Team member of the New Hampshire Medical Reserve Corps, volunteering to help our community respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am currently discussing with the Holderness Fire Department and other concerned residents how Holderness can optimize its emergency medical response programs, including becoming a designated "Heart Safe Community." Other heart-healthy volunteer activities include singing with Holderness' own "Rattlesnake" band, volunteering with SLCS, and supporting arts education and local arts and crafts artisans.

I am ready to listen to and learn from the concerns of all Holderness residents. I look forward to your support on March 11 and welcome this opportunity to serve you on your Select Board.

Thirty years ago, our family came to Holderness and fell in love with its beauty, charm, and peace. Our son graduated from PSU, one daughter was married on Church Island, and another daughter now lives with her family in Tamworth. Every day, we wake up and pinch ourselves, abundantly grateful to call Holderness our forever home.

I believe the role of the Select Board is to preserve Holderness’s unique character while ensuring that residents receive the highest level of services for their tax dollars. As times change, unforeseen challenges demand fresh thinking, creativity, and intense effort to succeed in both regards.

With deep respect for those who have served before me, I believe Holderness residents deserve renewed energy and bold leadership—and I am ready to deliver it. I will bring the following to this role:

✔ Unwavering Dedication to Holderness – I love this town beyond words and am committed to preserving its special uniqueness.

✔ Proven Leadership & Results – I have built three successful businesses—software, energy, and textiles. I bring a fierce intensity and urgency to achieving results, and I will apply that same drive to serving Holderness residents.

✔ Commitment to Strong Action – I know I can improve upon the great work already done by our Select Board.

My priorities include:

• Enhancing Public Safety – Ensuring our public safety department has the resources and structure necessary to reduce medical response times and protect residents.

• Strengthening Zoning Protections – Keeping our zoning board steadfast in protecting residents and their property.

• Preserving Our Town’s Character –Ensuring our planning board maintains Holderness’s charm by resisting over-commercialization and protecting what makes our town unique.

Ensuring our planning board resists over-commercialization and safeguards what makes Holderness special.

• Completing Critical Projects – Moving quickly to finish open projects, such as the much-needed cell phone tower for downtown Holderness.

• Adopting Best Practices – Bringing in the most effective policies from other NH towns to benefit Holderness residents.

• Collaborating with Neighboring Towns – Exploring partnerships to enhance services while containing costs.

• Building strong teams – Ensuring that our important town committees, such as planning and zoning, attract and retain strong talented members.

I am extremely proud to be joined in this election by Babbie Adams, a dedicated Holderness resident and retired physician who shares my commitment to preserving our town and improving services for residents. Please cast one vote for Babbie and one vote for me on March 11th. We will charge forward together, working tirelessly for you.
